Whole Foods Leases 72,000 SF at IDI's Pompano Business Center
Pompano Beach, FL (April 4, 2008) -- IDI, a full-service industrial real estate company, has closed a 10-year, 71,754-square-foot lease with Whole Foods, the upscale retailer of natural and organic foods. Building M at Pompano Business Center in Pompano Beach, Fla., will serve as Whole Foods’ new South Florida distribution center.
Harry Tangalakis, senior vice president in the Fort Lauderdale office of CB Richard Ellis, represented Whole Foods in the deal, and Larry Dinner, vice president of leasing in IDI’s Fort Lauderdale regional office, represented IDI. The food retailer will occupy its new space by June 1.
“This building, which is close to Interstate 95 and Florida’s Turnpike, provides a great location for Whole Foods to serve its South Florida stores,” Dinner said. “Whole Foods needed expanded distribution space, and Pompano Building M gives the company state-of-the-art space in a Class-A facility.”
Tenant improvements will include approximately 3,000 square feet of office space as well as a significant amount of refrigerated space.
Located just north of Fort Lauderdale at 2700 NW 19th Street, the 123,062-square-foot Pompano Building M is adjacent to both Florida’s Turnpike and Interstate 95, and provides convenient access to Interstate 75. The facility was built in 2006 and offers 30-foot clear height ceilings and Early Suppression Fast Response (ESFR) sprinklers. A total of 51,308 square feet remains available for lease in the building.
