Bunzl Leases 83,107 SF in Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City (May 19, 2008) -- IDI, a full-service industrial real estate company, has closed an 83,107-square-foot lease in Salt Lake City with Bunzl Utah, a division of St. Louis-based Bunzl Distribution, a supplier of food-service supplies and packaging, and various cleaning and safety products.
Bunzl signed a seven-year lease to occupy Building V of The Landmark at Salt Lake City business park, which it will use for the storage and distribution of its products. The estimated effective lease date is June 16.
Mark Sonnenberg of Colliers Turley Martin Tucker represented Bunzl in the lease deal. Tom Dischmann and Rad Dye of CB Richard Ellis were the listing brokers for IDI.
“Bunzl is expanding in the Salt Lake City market, and this facility provides the company the additional space required for its growing business,” said Jeff Lanaghan, vice president of leasing and development in IDI’s Chicago regional office. “Bunzl also took advantage of the opportunity to move into new, Class-A warehouse and distribution space in the highly visible end section of Landmark Building V.”
The company initially signed a lease to occupy 71,577 square feet of Landmark Building V, and later amended its initial lease to occupy an additional 11,530 square feet. Bunzl also has the right of first offer on the 83,102 square feet remaining in the 190,000-square-foot facility.
“Prior to leasing space at our Salt Lake City facility, Bunzl already was a long-term tenant at IDI’s Westfork business park in Atlanta, and we look forward to the opportunity to accommodate its growing space needs in other markets across the country,” Lanaghan said.
Located just 10 minutes west of downtown Salt Lake City, The Landmark at Salt Lake City business park provides convenient access to Interstates 215 and 80, as well as to Salt Lake City International Airport.
Building V, located at 1755 South 5500 West, was built in 2007 and features 28-foot clear heights, early suppression fast response (ESFR) emergency sprinklers, skylights and 19 rear-load dock doors, including three drive-in doors.
