Tom, who joined IDI in 1989, is Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director in charge of overseeing development and acquisition activities in the Chicago area, Salt Lake City, and Ontario, Canada. Since joining IDI, Tom has been responsible for the development of more than 2,000 acres of land in 18 business parks, along with approximately 23 million square feet of industrial and office facilities. During Tom’s tenure, the Chicago Office has developed over 100 facilities including 50 build-to-suit facilities. Tom holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and an M.B.A from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He is a registered Professional Engineer and has more than 25 years of experience in office and industrial construction and development.

As Vice President of Leasing and Development, Jeff is responsible for overseeing the development of speculative and build-to-suit facilities in the Chicago Region and in Salt Lake City. His development duties include sales, marketing, design and construction. In his tenure of 20 years with IDI, Jeff has developed and managed the design and construction of projects totaling more than 10 million square feet, ranging from mid-rise office buildings to distribution warehouses. He joined IDI in 1991 as an Assistant Development Manager with a focus on the construction and development of speculative facilities. A few years later, he was promoted to Development Manager, which added land infrastructure oversight and local municipality liaison to his responsibilities.

As Vice President of Leasing and Development in IDI’s Chicago development offices, Jeff is responsible for the development and management of IDI-owned land estates in the I-55 and I-80 submarkets of Chicago, as well as in Ontario, Canada. He also oversees all aspects of land and building development, including leasing, sales, marketing, design and construction. 

Jeff, who has more than 25 years of experience in construction and development, has overseen the development of more than 8 million square feet of warehouse/distribution facilities for IDI and has managed the design-build construction of more than 12 million square feet of warehouse distribution and office facilities.

As Vice President Sustainability for the Chicago Office, John’s goal is to identify, promote and install proven building systems that provide environmental benefits as well as operational cost savings. He evaluates existing facilities to determine which building modifications are warranted and viable considering the energy savings opportunity, available incentives and the other environmental and user benefits involved. John also supports IDI’s green building design and construction practices by facilitating LEED Certification for new and existing IDI facilities. Prior to taking on the sustainability responsibilities in January of 2010, John was Vice President of Leasing and Development at IDI with responsibilities for development of inventory and build-to-suit facilities. Prior to joining IDI in 1993, John worked at McShane Builders as a Project Manager for design-build industrial facilities in the Chicago area. Over his 24-year career in industrial real estate, he has managed the development of over 700 acres of industrial property and 7 million square feet of industrial facilities.

Tracey provides administrative support to the Chicago Office, managing the office day-to-day operations along with oversight on the office’s business activities. She began her IDI career in 1996 as a receptionist, and was quickly promoted to Administrative Assistant and now to her current Executive Assistant position. Tracey holds a BS degree in Recreation Administration and a minor in Business Administration from Eastern Illinois University.

Maggie joined IDI Services Group in 1997 and oversees the management of the Chicago Region’s 10.8 million square feet, which encompasses Salt Lake City and Woodstock, Ontario portfolios and 15 business park owners associations. Her current responsibilities include managing client relationships, retaining tenants, overseeing property conditions and supervising a four member team. Maggie is known for her ability to handle the rapidly changing client requirements without missing deadlines or sacrificing quality. She was recently recognized by a major third-party client, TIAA-CREF, and given the 2011 Four Diamond Award for Consistent Property Management Excellence. Maggie’s other third-party clients include JP Morgan, American Realty Advisors, TA Realty, Heitman and IIT.

Maggie holds a degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris College in Chicago, and holds the Real Property Administrator (RPA) and Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) designations from the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI). She is a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), where serves as the Chairperson of the Awards Committee. As a member of the BOMA education program, Maggie contributed in launching “Industrial 101” locally and served as a panelist discussing industrial managing practices and the differences between office and industrial management; BOMA International is considering taking the program international. She also holds an Illinois Real Estate Managing Broker License.

Tom, who has 25 years of real estate experience, joined IDI in June 2002 and is responsible for the day-to-day communication between tenants, contractors, development engineers and inspectors for properties in the Chicago, New Jersey and Pennsylvania portfolios. Prior to joining IDI, Tom worked at the Chicago real estate firm J&S Management, where he managed several apartment buildings and the conversion of some of the apartments into condominiums.
