Tom George
Senior Vice President, Regional Managing Director
Tom, who joined IDI in 1989, is Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director in charge of overseeing development and acquisition activities in the Chicago area, Salt Lake City, and Ontario, Canada. Since joining IDI, Tom has been responsible for the development of more than 2,000 acres of land in 18 business parks, along with approximately 23 million square feet of industrial and office facilities. During Tom’s tenure, the Chicago Office has developed over 100 facilities including 50 build-to-suit facilities. Tom holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and an M.B.A from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He is a registered Professional Engineer and has more than 25 years of experience in office and industrial construction and development.

Jeff Smith
Vice President, Leasing and Development
As Vice President of Leasing and Development in IDI’s Chicago development offices, Jeff is responsible for the development and management of IDI-owned land estates in the I-55 and I-80 submarkets of Chicago, as well as in Ontario, Canada. He also oversees all aspects of land and building development, including leasing, sales, marketing, design and construction.
Jeff, who has more than 25 years of experience in construction and development, has overseen the development of more than 8 million square feet of warehouse/distribution facilities for IDI and has managed the design-build construction of more than 12 million square feet of warehouse distribution and office facilities.

Maggie Amaya
Director, Real Estate Management
Maggie joined IDI Services Group in 1997 and oversees the management of the Chicago Region’s 10.8 million square feet, which encompasses Salt Lake City and Woodstock, Ontario portfolios and 15 business park owners associations. Her current responsibilities include managing client relationships, retaining tenants, overseeing property conditions and supervising a four member team. Maggie is known for her ability to handle the rapidly changing client requirements without missing deadlines or sacrificing quality. She was recently recognized by a major third-party client, TIAA-CREF, and given the 2011 Four Diamond Award for Consistent Property Management Excellence. Maggie’s other third-party clients include JP Morgan, American Realty Advisors, TA Realty, Heitman and IIT.
Maggie holds a degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris College in Chicago, and holds the Real Property Administrator (RPA) and Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) designations from the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI). She is a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), where serves as the Chairperson of the Awards Committee. As a member of the BOMA education program, Maggie contributed in launching “Industrial 101” locally and served as a panelist discussing industrial managing practices and the differences between office and industrial management; BOMA International is considering taking the program international. She also holds an Illinois Real Estate Managing Broker License.
